Edoardo (“Eddy”) Maffia joined McMahon, Martine & Gallagher LLP as an associate in 2020. He specializes in various general liability matters, focusing primarily on construction accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and premises liability. Eddy began his legal career working in-house for an automobile insurance company in Manhattan, where he settled over 500 motor vehicle claims/lawsuits and conducted over 200 Examinations Under Oath. He then became an Examiner for a Third-Party Administrator and oversaw construction related accidents from inception to conclusion. Eddy is a highly motivated and energetic attorney known as a hardworking gentleman. Conversely, he is a formidable advocate who will aggressively defend his clients. Despite being a young litigator, Eddy has already established an impressive track record of successful outcomes.
Eddy received his law degree at Fordham University School of Law in 2016, where he was a Louis J. Lefkowitz scholar. Eddy was also awarded the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award, cum laude, for his pro bono work during his time at Fordham. He received his Bachelor’s degree cum laude as a double major in Government & Politics and Italian Studies from the University of Maryland in 2012. Eddy is admitted to practice in New York State Courts, the Eastern District of New York, and the Southern District of New York. He speaks Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
