In 1958, Walter J. McMahon and Louis J. Martine launched the partnership that since 1993 has been known as McMahon, Martine & Gallagher. Between 1958 and 1971, McMahon and Martine built their highly respected trial practice on the time-honored principle that success is spelled "h-a-r-d w-o-r-k."
After 1971, when McMahon tragically passed away, Martine continued to build the Firm on the traditions begun with McMahon. Finally, in 1985, Martine reunited with Fordham Law '58 classmate William D. Gallagher, and McMahon, Martine & Gallagher was born. These traditions will be secure for many years to come, as Timothy D. Gallagher and Anthony D. Martine, sons of the founding partners and veteran trial lawyers themselves, have led the Firm since 2002.
McMahon, Martine & Gallagher represents more clients, in more complex and diverse disputes, than ever before. In addition to medical malpractice and general liability cases (e.g., automobile accidents and premises liability), which were the original core of the Firm's practice, McMahon, Martine & Gallagher now handles toxic torts including lead and asbestos injury claims, labor law/construction accident cases, products liability claims, insurance coverage disputes and property damage claims.
McMahon, Martine & Gallagher has grown through the years to meet the evolving needs of its clients. Today, eleven of McMahon, Martine & Gallagher's 20 attorneys have significant trial experience, which allows the Firm to respond to all the challenges presented in tort litigation. However, one thing has not changed over the years. Every attorney at McMahon, Martine & Gallagher is committed 100% to the principles of hard work and dedication to the needs of the client.
